Setting Up Your Classes

It's very important to imput your classes into CPS before you actually use the system. By inputing the classes, it will allow you to assign a specific clicker number to an individual student. This will also become very important once you start using the reports as well since you will need to know which student has which clicker. By inputing your classes in now, your reports will read with student names rather than clicker numbers.

1. When you open up your CPS file, you will see a menu bar above the list of lessons. The systme usually opens up to the lessons tab. You can tell it is on the lessons tab because it will be highlighted blue. You will need to click on the classes tab to get to the correct area to input your classes.

2. Next, click on "new class" (it's a button that has pictures of kids as well as a plus sign).

3.The next window that comes up is where you wil fill in your classes infomration. The most important part is the title. In order to keep your classes easy to find, I suggest you name them both by class and period (for example p.1 AP Euro, p.2 Algebra II, etc). Whatever else you would like to fill in, feel free, although the most important part is the title. After you finish filling in that infomration, choose "close".

4. Next, you will input your students. Click on the class that you are going to input. Next, you simply need to add your students one by one using the bottom part of the window. You don't need to fill in the student ID number, but you will need to fill in the pad id space. You may wish to put your kids in alphabetical order as it will ultimately be easier to put grades into IG Pro since you can sort your students alphabetically there as well. You will have to repeat this step for each class period.
