Setting Up Your System
The Software:
The clicker software is extremely easy to install. You simply put in the CD-Rom that comes with the system. If your CD is missing, you may download the install from eInstruction's web site (www.einstruction.com). If you are putting the software on a school computer, you may need an administrator's password. Jeanne, Bill or Jeff will need to help you with the password as they are the school administrators. Please let them know what you are trying to do and be patient to hear back from them-they are very busy people!
The Receptor Dish
The blue, flat dish with the black cord is the receptor for the clickers. You will need to put this receptor at a location where all students will be able to "beam" to-my suggestion is to drape it over your overhead screen. There is a long black cord that you need to plug into your USB port on your computer.
The Projector
Next, you will need to plug in the projector to your computer as well. Your students will not be able to see the assessments unless they are connected to a projector.
Testing the Clickers
Open your CPS file. Once the program is running, you will want to look at the top of the menu bar for the "settings" option. Underneath settings, click on delievery options. Once that screens opens, you will see a "Setup CPS Receiver" button. Click on that button. Next, you will need to grab clicker 1 and push button A. Once the system detects the clicker, the screen will turn green and you should choose "done". If you cannot get the system to find clicker 1, please check all of your connections (that means the cable from the receptor to your computer as well as the point where the receptor plugs into the computer). If you are still unable to get it to respond, please contact Kiffany or Chris for help.
